In 1971, following the collapse of the MBT-70 program, the U.S. legislature authorized a new project to develop a main battle tank. This program, dubbed the XM1 project, awarded development contracts to General Motors and Chrysler Defense in 1973, allowing both companies to design prototypes. Chrysler’s prototype used a gas turbine engine to improve speed and mobility and was the design ultimately selected for further development in 1976, eventually becoming the M1 Abrams.
With its 1500 hp gas turbine engine, the XM1 (Chrysler) has good mobility with a high top speed of nearly 76kph. It will also earn you Silver at a fast rate thanks to its 65% Silver bonus.

H3 (175mm)
- Game Mode: Cold War
- ERA: 2
- Affiliation: Western
- Class: Tank Destroyer
Even while the T43 heavy tank was being developed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, the U.S. military continued to explore options for producing heavy tanks with even greater firepower. Designs were presented through a series of meetings known as Operation Question Mark that began in April 1952. The third of the three designs reviewed at the first meeting called for a 175mm gun to be paired with an autoloader and was designated the H3 heavy tank; all three designs also featured a turret ring that measured 108 inches in diameter. Although none of the concepts was selected for further development, each was used as a foundation for later projects.
This machine comes out just in time for the U.S.’s huge 250th anniversary, bringing some serious American firepower to the battlefield. Its massive 3-round autoloading 175mm gun delivers a devastating 800 damage per shot with surprisingly decent accuracy for such a large-caliber weapon. Plus, it will earn you Silver at a 60% bonus rate!

H3 (120mm)
- Game Mode: WWII
- Tier: IX
- Nation: USA
- Class: Heavy Tank
In the second half of the 1940s, the U.S. was carrying out unhurried work on a heavy tank and had not moved beyond the prototype phase. The Korean War was a strong impetus to progress, and the early 1950s saw the appearance of the T43 heavy tank, which transformed into the serially produced M103 heavy tank. Work then began on designing heavier tanks, and the H3 heavy tank was among the presented concepts. The U.S. clearly drew upon experience of the French AMX 50 in its creation. The vehicle was equipped with an oscillating turret and an autoloader but remained an original design—this also concerned the turret. The hull was made as low as possible. In addition, the tank had a high power-to-weight ratio. Work on the H3 heavy tank did not go beyond design proposals.
In battle, the H3 plays as a support heavy, relying on mobility and firepower rather than armor. Its 5-round autoloader can deliver an incredible 2,000 damage per clip—enough to eliminate most same-tier opponents. Decent accuracy and a quick aiming time make it effective at mid-range, while its strong mobility allows it to relocate during the lengthy reload and prepare for the next engagement.

Brennos
- Game Mode: WWII
- Tier: VIII
- Nation: French
- Class: Heavy
After World War II, the French decided to create a heavy tank taking into account the accumulated experience. All pre-war and wartime French heavy tank projects were taken into consideration. A clear German influence could be sensed in many parts and components, since France had abundant information about the Panther and the King Tiger. The French considered borrowing ideas even from the U.S.S.R., attempting to reproduce the famous pike nose of the IS-3 on the new vehicle. Although the turret was reminiscent of the King Tiger's, a cast one was planned with additional French know-how in the form of a commander's cupola with two 20 mm cannons. In the course of detailed development it became clear that the concept of the tank was outdated and that should it enter mass production, it would no longer be relevant. The project went no further than blueprints.
The Brennos arrives just in time for Bastille Day as the latest addition to the French lineup. Armed with a precise 105mm gun, it combines excellent gun depression, a quick aiming time, strong accuracy, and high DPM with good mobility for a support-oriented playstyle. Use these strengths to outmaneuver and eliminate enemy medium tanks while providing valuable fire support to your frontline heavies.

"The Hunter"
- Game Mode: WWII
- Tier: IX
- Nation: U.S.A
- Class: Tank Destroyer
Development work on the T43 heavy tank began in 1948 as part of the U.S. response to the threat posed by the Soviet IS-3. Proposals for the T43 improved on the T34’s design by incorporating an elliptical hull and turret and a 120mm gun that would reduce the T43’s weight. The American company Rheem took the T43’s modifications further; in the early 1950s, it submitted a design for a replacement vehicle called “The Hunter” that featured a low profile and dual guns and was capable of firing rockets. “The Hunter” was never produced.
Designed as an assault vehicle, “The Hunter” combines solid mobility with strong frontal armor, allowing it to stay with the advance and absorb incoming fire. Well-sloped armor plates provide reliable protection and can cause enemy rounds to ricochet. Its most distinctive feature is a pair of 105mm rocket guns fed by a 6-round clip (3 rounds per barrel), delivering a rapid stream of high-penetration rockets capable of tearing through even heavily armored opponents.
