MATCHMAKER UPDATES

Thank you for your feedback, Commanders! We’ve heard the concerns surrounding the matchmaker since the Gods of Thunder season update.

We’ve taken some time to collect data, try out different configurations of the matchmaker, and run through simulations to see if we are hitting our marks.

Our goals for any possible adjustments to the matchmaker:

• Matches that are less lopsided and better balanced
• Fair matches
• Fewer “steam roll” matches
• Improved match times

In data, we can see that, yes, there has been a change in lopsided matches and a small bump to average match times with the changes that went live at the start of the season, but they’re very tiny. We see clear indicators that more updates are necessary.

To that end, starting today, September 16, we’ve made changes to the matchmaker that tune the weighting system for players and how they are allocated to the teams.

Please note: this won't be the last time we apply changes to the matchmaker! This will be a continued effort as part of our ongoing quality of life initiative to support the game and the community.

We’ll keep you posted on when more matchmaker changes might occur in the future and what they may be. For now, please share your thoughts on these changes on our social accounts or Discord!

PREMIUM TANK BALANCE CHANGES

As part of our ongoing quality of life initiative, we’ve updated some of the stats on two Premium vehicles: the SU-152 "Taran" and the FV4003 Centurion Mk. 5 AVRE.

NEW PREMIUM TANK (+ MORE:) BLACK DIAMOND

Land, ho! Arriving on shore this week: the French Tier VIII Black Diamond Medium Tank. This pirate-themed craft is a right speedy landship that should appeal to fans of the Bat.-Châtillon Bourrasque.

It brings with it a treasure trove of new and returning Pirate Flag Cosmetics. Plunder ‘em while you can!

COMMANDER

Pirates have plundered our Commander War Chests. Get your share of the loot—head to the store to claim your own Pirate War Chest!

Each Pirate War Chest is guaranteed to grant you either a Commander (2D or 3D) OR a Premium tank, with days of Premium Account, Commander XP Boosters, and pirate-themed Cosmetics as possible additional drops.
