Ardennes

  • Standard battle
    • Updated base locations from being east-west oriented to northwest-southeast oriented. Along with this, spawn positions were adjusted so that teams are more likely to send tanks to both flanks.
      • This is to help address both teams moving in a circular pattern, missing each other, and capturing the base instead.
    • We have updated the terrain resistance to ensure that the soft, medium, and firm values more accurately reflect the map's visuals.

TANK BALANCE CHANGES

With this round of balance changes, some vehicles have had modules removed from their upgrade paths. For any removed modules, players will receive 100% of the module’s Silver value as compensation upon login. If you own any of the affected vehicles listed below, please check them, as the loadouts will be reset to their stock configuration.

  • World War II balance changes focus on low-tier vehicles, mostly to improve stock grinds. For this pass, we covered only half the nations, with the other nations being looked at in a future update. Some vehicles are receiving a nerf, such as the FCM F4, which players have been calling out as a problematic vehicle in the low tiers. The notable changes to the FCM F4 revolve around reducing its armor and mobility.
  • Cold War balance changes mainly focus on improving U.K. vehicles. Some vehicles are receiving nerfs, such as the FV107 Scimitar and FV4005 Stage II '57, which have been called out as problematic vehicles in Post War (Era 1). The notable change for the FV107 Scimitar is the reduction in its DPM, while the FV4005 is receiving reload, accuracy, and alpha reduction adjustments.

What does "Updated physics" mean?

  • You'll see this on vehicles that received a change that impacts mobility, such as rotation speed, terrain resistance, or engine horsepower. This note means that we've run this tank through our physics tool to update the physics to apply these changes to the vehicles.

What does "Updated LVP" mean?

  • LVP stands for Linear Vehicle Progression. You'll see this on tanks that either have new modules or removed modules. This means we have updated the module unlock progression for that tank to account for the change in modules. These are also the vehicles that you'll find reset to their stock loadout, so you'll want to be sure to set up the tank before heading into battle.

QUALITY OF LIFE UPDATES

  • Ongoing work to update the UI—various areas updated in this season include the following:
    • Garage top tabs
    • Bottom tabs
    • Challenges
    • Added a gradient to the loadout menu.
    • Added a different background for equipped items to more easily tell the difference between mounted and owned customizations.
    • Pause menu: Removed the “Regiment” button and added a “Report Content” button.
    • Platoon menu now adjusts in size based on tank name, so the names can be displayed without being cut off or scrolling.
  • Bot improvements:
    • A new cover support system is being rolled out to maps that gives bots awareness of where cover is, allowing them to make better decisions during battle. This will be an ongoing process, with the following maps updated this season:
      • Mines
      • Safe Haven
      • Ardennes
    • Improved the logic so bots make a better attempt to avoid incoming ATGMs.
    • Addressed issues where bots sometimes stopped moving.
    • Addressed issues where bots would continue to wiggle while in cover and reloading.
  • Gameplay-related improvements:
    • Added a glow VFX to Rocket Boosters when activated.
    • Adjusted the overheat barrel glow VFX to start once at the 50% threshold.
    • Added thicker tank outlines to improve visibility.
    • Added the 50m proxy circle back to the mini-map.
    • Enhanced Missile Warning has been extended from 500m to 1000m to account for the improved ATGM acceleration changes.
  • Added reward details for account unlock items to provide more clarity on what they are.
  • Updated the login flow to reduce the number of button presses to launch the game.
    • The “Server Select” option has been moved to the start screen.
    • The “Press to Play” secondary launcher has been removed.
  • Store Season Pass tab renamed to Season tab to make room in the UI.
  • Enabled the following Skins to be permanently available for purchase:
  • Updated the matchmaker to remove the battle count battle point factor. For more information on what this was, see https://modernarmor.worldoftanks.com/en/cms/news/general-mm-updates/
    • The battle count was removed as it was not having an impact on creating more balanced matches for two main reasons:
      • Battle count does not relate to player skill
      • Most players have 2,000+ battles, so their battle point values are the same
    • This baseline experience also provides a good platform to build upon for future improvements.

WAR CHEST UPDATE

The following War Chests have now expired and will automatically open upon login:

To remain compliant with the latest legislation, War Chests have been removed as rewards for Season Passes/Ultimate Season Passes.

  • The season Free Reward path still has (1) War Chest reward.

ISSUES ADDRESSED

General:

  • Adjusted the eye direction of the Shamrock Googly Eye
  • Addressed a rounding issue within the Detailed Stats panel
  • Overlap on the Stage Skip button no longer occurs for stages that cannot be skipped
  • Rocket tracers now end once the rocket collides with a destructible object
  • MVP screen no longer displays random players in white font
  • Potential fix for favorites being randomly lost
  • Contracts with more than eight stages now display correctly on the Contract tab and loading screen
  • Commanders' customized Skill panel no longer carries over to the next Commander you view
  • Added text shadow to Regiment names so they are visible if the banner has white coloring
  • Chimera Hunter 2019 Medal now displays in the correct category
  • Corrected an issue where bots sometimes ignored the reload times
  • What's New images are now aligned correctly
  • Regiment traits now display the correct mode when inspecting a Regiment
  • Winter Fest Trophy now has the correct textures on the weapon
  • Xbox One: Addressed an issue where voice chat was causing audio distortion
  • Dreadful Decor garage gear visuals have been corrected

  • M47 Patton: Fixed the gun elevation/depression range in sniper view
  • FV107 Scimitar: Fixed the smoothing of the turret mantlet

  • G.I. JOE Mauler: Corrected the premium ammo damage for its APFSDS DU round: 320 -> 340
  • KV-4: Mini-turret damaged status now reflects correctly on the tank doll
  • Chieftain Mk. 5: Applied smoothing to the collision model

  • M60: Fixed the front and rear light textures
  • Tiger-Maus: 75mm secondary gun now displays in the module viewer

  • Object 184: Ammo rack is no longer appearing as armor in the armor viewer
  • FV3903 Churchill VII AVRE: Tracks no longer clip through the fender
  • T-55A and Thrungva no longer share the same spot on the Premium Tech Tree
  • Headless Coachman: Corrected the resolution of its shadow
  • Marder 1A1: Milan ATGM now has the correct caliber of 115mm
  • Tiger II: Removed spare tracks from the turret to prevent clipping with the Skin


Maps:

  • Oyster Bay:
    • Bots are now spawning in the desired spawn groups
    • Oyster farms are no longer destroyed by shots and use the correct destruction FX of a wooden structure
    • Truck at F7 no longer disappears at a certain distance
  • Fredvang: Smoothed the terrain at J5
  • Mines: Fixed the bot pathing to prevent them from getting stuck
  • Kaunas: Fixed the bot pathing to prevent them from getting stuck
