Every tank comes with Crew, and in each battle, they earn experience and become more proficient with their tanks.
The Crew operates your vehicles. In World of Tanks Console, they are treated as one unified element, as opposed to individual Crewmen. As such, the Tank Commander represents the entire crew, while individual Crewmen are not viewable.
- Once the Crew has been Dismissed from your Tank or Barracks, there is no way for it to be restored! Please be careful when completing in-game transactions with your Crew.
- Crew names and portraits are randomized. As of now, there is no way to customize this.
Crewmen are able to choose skills or perks that provide benefits for you on the battlefield. As you enter and complete battles, your crew as a whole becomes more proficient in their vehicle, earning experience towards the Skill or Perk that you've chosen.

Commander
The Commander's principal job is to spot enemy vehicles. The Commander's degree of proficiency directly affects his view range. The more proficient the Commander, the greater the distance at which an enemy can be spotted.

Gunner
The Gunner's principal job is to aim and fire the vehicle's main gun. The Gunner's degree of Proficiency directly affects the aiming speed at which the sights lock on to a target, the accuracy of each shot, and the turret traverse (rotation) speed. The more proficient the Gunner, the better the shots he will make.

Driver
The Driver's principal job is to drive and manoeuvre the vehicle. The Driver's degree of proficiency directly affects the movement and manoeuvrability of the vehicle, including its acceleration, top speed, terrain resistance, and hull traverse speed. The more proficient the Driver, the better the vehicle will manoeuvre.

Radio Operator
The Radio Operator's principal job is communicating with allies. The Radio Operator's degree of proficiency directly affects the radio and signal range of the vehicle. The vehicle can communicate with any allied vehicle whose signal range overlaps with its own. Any vehicles (friend or foe) which are spotted by any allied vehicle within signal range will also be communicated to and display on the player's mini-map. This provides battlefield situational awareness which can be a decisive tactical advantage. The more proficient the Radio Operator, the greater the distance that the vehicle can communicate with allies; and thereby spot enemy tanks.

Loader
The Loader's principal job is loading the next round into the main gun. Each Loader's proficiency directly affects how fast the next shell is loaded, and the more proficient the Loader(s), the faster the gun reloads.
The Proficiency of your Crew is visible when selecting your tank and crew in the Garage space. Crew experience earned in a battle is divided amongst all crew members on that tank.
When you sell a tank, your Crew will return to the Barracks awaiting a new tank to ride in. This will ensure that all of your Crew XP, Skills, and Perks are saved for other uses. The amount awarded to your crew will vary with your performance in each battle in a similar fashion to vehicle experience.
While the precise amount you earn with each battle will not be displayed, there will be a progress bar under your crew portraits that reflects how close you are to the next level.
The rate of the Crew Experience gained is slower than you are used to in comparison to tank specific XP. Crew XP is gained using a curved scale, so it will take more XP to move the graphic as you get closer to the end of the bar. This is similar to the levelling system in a traditional RPG it is easy to go from level 1 to level 2, however, requires a significantly more amount of XP when going from level 64 to level 65.
While in battle, your crew may become immobilized due to enemy fire; this causes certain aspects of the game to change. For example, if the crew member in charge of reloading your ammo is immobilized, then your gun will load slower. The same will occur if your Driver is immobilized, then your tank will move slower. You can use a First Aid Kit to heal your crew members, so they function again. If all crew members are immobilized, you will lose complete control of your tank, as if your tank had been destroyed in battle.
