Tank origin
Development was started in 1944. The IS-3 tanks were not deployed during World War II. However, 52 vehicles took part in the Berlin Allies Victory Parade on September 7th, 1945. The IS-3 tank was mass-produced at the Chelyabinsk Kirov Plant by the end of 1946. A total of 2,305 vehicles were manufactured.
