The United States’ quest for an ideal light tank continued even after the M41 Walker Bulldog was accepted into service. The T92 was the name assigned to the proposal from Aircraft Armaments. Innovative in design, the T92 featured a split low-profile turret with two crew cupolas, one on each side of the 76mm main gun. However, the appearance of the PT-76, which was both amphibious and air-mobile, rendered the T92 less attractive. It was eventually passed over in favor of the M551 Sheridan.
