It’s a time of celebration, but also a time for dedication and commitment. This is the latest season of World of Tanks Modern Armor: YEAR OF THE DRAGON!

This themed event marks the arrival of a season of good fortune. But you won’t be able to depend on luck alone, Commander. You’ll need all your skill and determination to complete the season’s Challenges, earn points, and rise through 100 levels full of rich rewards.

Reward Highlights and Season Pass Info

The Year of the Dragon season starts on Tuesday, January 30th, and runs through Monday, March 25th.

You can choose one of three paths to follow in order to earn season rewards and content:

• Free Rewards
• Season Pass Rewards
• Ultimate Season Pass Rewards

Every tank commander automatically receives rewards from the Free Rewards path; there’s nothing special you need to do to begin your progress! Additionally, at any point in the season, you can get a Season Pass or Ultimate Season Pass to receive the rewards you’ve earned up to that point.

You can find all the reward details broken down by level in the “Seasons” tab in game. Once there, you can also see any season Challenges available. Finish these to earn the points you need to complete each of the season’s 100 levels.

You might have noticed something new for this season: for the first time, gear for your customizable garage will be available as season rewards! Here’s a look at the themed items you can get:

And if you want a glimpse of the themed Cosmetics you can earn with the Season Pass and Ultimate Season Pass (and the Year of the Dragon Season Medal that everyone gets after Level 100), take a look at the table below.

NOTE: If you get a regular Season Pass and later decide that you want to upgrade to the Ultimate Season Pass, you can certainly do that! Head to the in-game Store, where you’ll find the Upgrade to Ultimate option available for 4,000 Gold.

Year of the Dragon Starter Pack

The best journeys begin with good preparation. Make sure that you claim the Year of the Dragon Starter Pack DLC, available for FREE to every player!

Year of the Dragon: Season Tanks

This season’s rewards feature three renowned World War II Premium tanks, including the Type 59-II, which all players who complete Level 100 will receive.

If you already own any of these three vehicles, you’ll receive their Silver value as compensation once you complete their associated level:

• Chinese Tier VIII Type 59-II Medium Tank: 3,300,000 Silver
• Chinese Tier VI Type 64 Light Tank: 1,400,000 Silver (Season Pass reward)
• German Tier VIII Panzer 58 Mutz Medium Tank: 3,480,000 Silver (Season Pass reward)

But we know that your ambition also drives you to seek novel rewards. Arriving in the game this season are two new tanks: a versatile Cold War medium tank with a powerful gun, and a World War II heavy tank with a three-round autoloader.

WZ-1224

• Mode: Cold War
• Affiliation: Eastern Alliance
• Era: Escalation (Era 2)
• Class: Medium Tank

Inspired by a 1970s prototype for a Chinese main battle tank, the WZ-1224 arrives equipped with a 120mm gun—a hard-hitting weapon for an Era 2 medium tank! Use it to support your team with well-timed, accurate shots.

Additionally, the turret and the hull on the WZ-1224 are protected with spaced composite armor. Altogether, this tank’s armor, firepower, and mobility make it a cross between a medium and a heavy tank that opponents will fear in battle.

Note: The WZ-1224 has a Skin, the “Cinnabar” Hero Skin, that will be earnable in a Challenge coming later in the Year of the Dragon season. Keep an eye on the News page for more details!

Highlander 116-F3

• Mode: World War II
• Nation: China
• Tier: X
• Class: Heavy Tank

Surprise your enemies! The Highlander 116-F3 is equipped with a three-round autoloader, which is unique among the game’s Chinese vehicles. Wait for the right moment, and then unleash a burst of damage that can change the tide of battle.

What’s not surprising about the Highlander is its frontal armor protection. In true heavy tank style, this vehicle is built to meet challenges head on, so roll out and face your enemies confident that you’ll be able to hold the line.

Year of the Dragon: Season Commanders

Every tanker who completes Level 75 will receive the Fucanglong 2D Standard Commander. This magnificent dragon starts with one open Skill slot and earns Commander XP at the standard rate.

But Fucanglong is not alone.

Valor is a timeless trait. This season’s brand-new 3D Commander is inspired by the warriors of ancient China and arrives ready to accompany you through a season for the ages: Zhū Téng Lóng!

As a Hero Commander, Zhū Téng Lóng starts with three open Skill slots and earns Commander XP at an incredible +30% bonus rate.

Zhū Téng Lóng will be awarded to you immediately upon purchase of an Ultimate Season Pass. Head over to the Commanders’ tab to customize him with your preferred Skills and hone your abilities in battle!

Season Level Buyouts

There are times when speed is a virtue.

Whether you get a pass or not, you can use Gold to skip or buyout levels and reach your rewards more quickly!

Here’s how to do it:

• Highlight the level you want to skip and press "A" (Xbox) or "X" (PS) to skip the level.
• You can skip one, multiple, or all levels. The Gold cost will be based on how many levels are being skipped.

Level buyouts are 250 Gold per level. There will be NO season overtime or opportunity to skip levels after March 25th.
