NOTE: If you currently own the ammunition or guns that are being replaced, you will be given 100% Silver compensation upon login. The new guns/ammo will need to be repurchased, so be sure to check your vehicle loadout to set up your affected tanks before rolling into battle. The purchase costs for the new guns and ammunition are the same as the items they replaced.

Cold War HEAT Shell Update

HEAT shells for certain tanks that use this as a third ammo type are getting an update! Select tanks will have their HEAT shell replaced with HE, and two tanks will have their HEAT shells replaced with HESH.

We have monitored the impact and player feedback on the recent Cold War economy update. One of the issues most frequently mentioned is the cost of ammunition. As part of this update, we wanted to address the "worst offenders" list of ammunition costs and will follow up with additional changes in the next update. (Costs in Silver unless otherwise denoted with a “G” for Gold.)

Additional Improvements

  • Matchmaking improvements:
    • Adjusted the matchmaking rule so that, if after two minutes there aren't at least five bottom-tier tanks per team, the match will be created without the bottom-tier tanks. This change is to address feedback about instances in which a player could be the only bottom-tier tank in a match.
  • Mouse and keyboard improvements:
    • The orbit camera in the garage has been disconnected from mouse movement. The orbit camera is now controlled by Click+Hold and moving the mouse.
    • Added mouse support to click on various items within the Contracts, Seasons, and Challenges tab.
    • Added rotate buttons to the customizable garage so mouse users can rotate garage gear.
  • New player experience improvements:
    • Added tank stats to the tank description panel.
    • Added “Star” indicator to help give direction on how to complete the current new tanker task.
    • Added animated highlight and pulse effect to the tanker task display.
    • Updated the “Welcome to Your Garage” notification to inform users to complete the tanker tasks to unlock Multiplayer.
  • Removed the theater of war artillery strikes as well as various smoke plumes from all maps to prevent confusion.
  • Updated several Cold War vehicles to have access to the e-brake maneuver. Originally, tank destroyers were not allowed to skid using the handbrake. We have decided that since the combat in Cold War is faster paced, tank destroyers should be allowed to skid when using the handbrake. This will allow for better mobility of tank destroyers to either engage or disengage enemy tanks! The following tank destroyers in Cold War can now slide into battle:
  • Dual-barrel tank HUD improvements:
    • Increased the size of the reload time.
  • Dynamic audio support was added for reverberation and echoes. These effects will be subtle and based on your camera position to support a more immersive audio experience during gameplay.
    • Reverberation will occur in close-range, high-reflection environments like tunnels, bridges, and narrow urban corridors.
    • Echo will occur in medium-range, high-reflection environments like wide urban corridors.
  • Rocket-specific audio was added for the T34 Calliope's rockets.
  • Removed the following maps from Eras 2 (Escalation) and 3 (Détente) in both Multiplayer and Co-Op modes:
    • Fjords
    • Berlin
    • Great Wall

Issues Addressed

General:

  • Fixed the missile positions for various vehicles to launch from the correct position.
  • Ally and enemy icons will now correctly be gray if the players are not loaded in.
  • Boogeyman 2D Commander icon now displays correctly on the PBRS.
  • Opening and closing the filter repeatedly no longer causes various issues in the Premium Tech Tree.
  • Reload time now updates correctly when activating enhanced rations.
  • Backing out of the Commander filter will now have the highlighted Commander selected.
  • Challenges tab now correctly filters out non-event-related challenges while in the event mode.
  • Mouse and keyboard: Releasing "W" while turning now correctly stops forward movement.
  • Mouse and keyboard: The mouse can now click the Ready/Battle button.
  • When using red/green team colors, the base capture fill color now uses the correct team colors.
  • Tank Ace Trophy requirements are now correct in Spanish.
  • All Consumable icons are now correctly centered within the garage panel display.
  • Highlight animation on the appearance tab now works the same as in other areas of the game.
  • Addressed an issue where players would download the overrides every time they logged in.
  • ATGMs now correctly despawn when reaching the map border.
  • The Long Haul Challenge now displays the random War Chest reward icon in the reward section.
  • Dual-barrel single-fire mode no longer indicates that the switch ammo button is activating when shooting.
  • The white line on the mini-map now correctly reflects your ammunition's max range.
  • Removed the D-pad input icon from the HUD for Auto-Siege vehicles.
  • The reload timer no longer flickers under certain circumstances.
  • The Store Tab’s "new" indicator now disappears properly.

  • IS-6 Black Edition: Corrected the overlapping texture on the rear of the vehicle that caused a visual issue.
  • AMX 13 75: Ammunition name now displays correctly in Japanese.
  • VK 72.01 (K): Track no longer clips through the fender.
  • Kanonenjagdpanzer 4-5: Camouflage now applies to all areas of the tank correctly.
  • WZ-1224: Camouflage tiling is now scaled correctly on the gun and turret.
  • Object 259A:
    • Tread marks are now the correct size.
    • Camouflage now applies to all areas of the tank correctly.
  • TR-125: Updated Emblem position on Turret 1 to match the location on Turret 2.
  • Wind of Arrakis: Armor model no longer has various holes or gaps between different panels.
  • T-72BU: Skin now applies to all areas of the tank correctly.
  • VK 36.01 (H): Removed the inscription from the Skin so it no longer overlaps the applied inscription.
  • AMX 30B2: Corrected the collision model for the secondary gun to match the visual model.
  • Teledyne Continental Motors AGS: Adjusted the barrel position in first-person view so that it no longer obstructs the view.
  • RU 251: Camouflage now applies to all areas of the tank correctly.
  • AMX 40: Tank icon has been updated to reflect its appearance in game.
  • MBT-B: Corrected the tread audio.

Maps:

  • Ruinberg: Tank icons and nameplates no longer disappear behind debris piles.
  • Dragon Ridge: Overview map now displays all spawn locations for Encounter mode.
  • Azure Coast:
    • Tanks no longer clip into the lighthouse.
    • Added additional rocks at B9 to prevent players from getting stuck.
    • Updated textures in various areas to address visual issues.
  • Nebelburg: Various buildings and rocks no longer pop in, and other smaller objects will spawn in at a longer distance to match other maps.
  • Mountain Pass: Filled in a gap between the bridge and rocks to prevent tanks from getting wedged in a gap.
  • Himmelsdorf: Added collisions to block off access to unintended areas at K0.
  • Berlin: Blocked off a gap in the building at G5 so that small tanks could no longer enter unintended areas.
  • Swamp: Adjusted the rocks at E5 so there is no longer a gap.
  • Severogorsk: Adjusted the rocks at F3 to be flush with the ground.
