NEW SEASON: IRON HORIZON

New metal appears on the horizon, and these tanks have brought friends in this season's offerings.

This season introduces a special Anniversary Pass that allows you to earn three additional Premium tanks after Stage 100, the new Oyster Bay map, and the Whizbang as this season's earnable Regiment tank.

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS

Anniversary Pass

This season marks the 12th anniversary of World of Tanks Modern Armor! In honor of this milestone, we have a special Anniversary Pass available for the duration of the Iron Horizon season.

The Anniversary Pass offers an amazing value, as you can potentially earn three additional brand-new Premium tanks by reaching Stages 105, 115, and 124. That's 35,000 Gold’s worth of tanks for only 6,000 Gold! Interested? Read on for the details.

  • The Anniversary Pass is available to Ultimate Season Pass holders. You can purchase the Anniversary Pass at the same time you purchase the Ultimate Season Pass OR as a standalone item if you already own the Ultimate Season Pass.
  • This pass will provide additional Premium tank rewards for completing Stage 105, 115, and 124.
  • Purchasing this pass will give you Challenges on your Challenge Tab, one per tank. (Don’t worry; your Challenge for each will be simply to complete the stages listed above!)
  • Each Challenge has two requirements to meet:
    • Stage Requirement: the stage you must complete to receive the tank
    • Date Requirement: the date the tank will become available in the game
  • When both the Stage Requirement and Date Requirement are met, you will receive the corresponding tank.
    • If you reach the Stage Requirement before the tank's availability date, you must still log in between the availability date and the end of the season to complete the Challenge to receive the tank.
  • IMPORTANT: ALL CHALLENGES EXPIRE WHEN THE SEASON ENDS ON TUESDAY, APRIL 7, AT 8:59 UTC!

New Map: Oyster Bay

Oyster Bay is a brand-new summer map for Battle Tiers 5+ and all Cold War Eras. The extra-large battlefield, a whopping 1,300×1,300 meters, is situated on a beautiful tropical island in the Pacific, featuring sandy beaches, a central airfield, a steep mountain range, and the titular oyster farms located in the southeast.

The key fighting area on this volcanic island is a winding rock gorge that is suitable for well-armored and assault vehicles. The airfield on the other flank allows you to quickly move vehicles closer to the enemy base (or back to defend your base). However, this location is not properly protected, and you should rely on your vehicle mobility there. The coastal areas are fairly open, providing ideal positions for ambush tank destroyers and terrain irregularities that favor light and medium tank maneuvers.

REGIMENTS UPDATES

Regiment Member Search

Suggested players will now appear within the "Manage Regiment" menu. The suggested players are those without Regiments who have logged in within the past 14 days. Players that you have recently played matches with will be suggested first, followed by randomly selected players to fill any remaining spots.

New Regiment Store Items

The Regiment Store has been refreshed with new content. This season, it offers the new T40/M17 Whizbang, which mounts a secondary rocket launcher, along with player-favorite Camouflage Sets and new Emblems!

ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

  • World War II matchmaking:
  • Map availability updates:
    • Province
      • Removed from Battle Tiers 9+
      • Removed from Cold War Era 1 (Post War)
  • PBRS:
    • Removed the "No Commander" icon if no Commander is equipped.
    • Updated the text color for "Victory," "Defeat," and "Draw" to have their own color.
    • Adjusted the tank position to account for larger gun barrels.
    • Adjusted the position of 2D Commanders.
    • Added a "No accolades earned" backer if no Ribbons or Medals are earned in that match.
    • Reduced the "best in game" glow to prevent it from washing out the text.
    • Improved visibility between alive and destroyed status on the scoreboard.
  • Store:
    • Store bundles now support displaying the Custom VO icon in the bundle details.
  • Demolisher T28: Allowed access to mount Camouflage if desired.
  • Login process and game mode
    • Text during the login process on all screens has been aligned to the bottom of the screen for consistency.
    • What's New has moved to the game mode menu instead of displaying during the login process. Access this screen by pressing the corresponding button shown in the button legend.
    • Animated the game mode menu.
    • Removed the "noise" filter from the background images so they now display clearly.

  • Bots:
    • If you bump into a stationary bot, the bot will now move out of the way in the opposite direction.
    • Improvements have been made to pathing and engagement rules, so that bots engage players who are in "late game" zones at any point during the match.
    • Roles will update based on the number of enemies left.
    • Updated sidescraping tactics so that they work with new cover points.
  • Social menu:
    • Players can now send friend requests to Regiment members within the social menu.
  • New player experience:
    • Added the option to quit the tutorial.
    • Players start in World War II mode and garage.
  • War Chests:
    • Removed from Brazil's marketplace.
  • Premium Account days:
    • Players can no longer purchase days of Premium Account beyond the maximum limit of 1,825 days.
    • When attempting to do so, players will see a “purchase cancelled” notification and the reason why.

AUTO-OPENING OF EXPIRED WAR CHESTS

The following War Chests have now expired and will automatically open upon login:

ISSUES ADDRESSED

General:

  • PBRS:
    • Marks of Excellence: Added damage standing progress to the Medal description.
    • Earned commemorative tokens now count towards the Medals Earned display in performance stats.
    • Removed the placement number from the performance stats.
    • PBRS now displays the correct match outcome above the teams on the scoreboard.
  • Loading screen:
    • Challenge text no longer overlaps.
  • Flamethrowers no longer cause damage to allies that are next to enemy tanks.
  • HUD:
    • If the gun is broken, the clip display now correctly turns grey until the gun is fixed.
    • All Fire mode reticles no longer appear in spectator mode.
    • Removed overlapping reload and clip indicators when spectating players after using a clip-based tank.
  • New players experience
    • The "New" indicators are now on the top layer of the overlay.
    • Players will receive a pop-up notification when completing the training mission.
    • The "New" indicator has been added in various stages where it was previously missing.
  • Ammunition rack detonations' visual and audio are now synced.
  • The “Modify Garage” menu and “Options” menu no longer overlap.
  • Regiment Challenges no longer disappear.
  • The "Ready" status will now work correctly if all platoon members left the previous match.
  • Module Viewer
    • Pressing RT/LT for multiple tanks no longer causes the "See more ammo" text to shift downwards.
  • Commander filter no longer resets after various actions.
  • Addressed an issue where designated autocannons were still causing crew damage.
  • Werner Rainer: Corrected the reel image to match his likeness.
  • Can now mount custom Flags on vehicles.
  • The garage contract widget now displays the correct Cold War Era requirements.
  • The War Chest tracker for the number of opens until a guaranteed drop now displays the correct value after opening other types of War Chests.

  • Lakeville: Adjusted bot navigation to prevent bots from getting stuck on the slope at G2/H2.
  • Sand River: Adjusted the rocks at C3 to prevent tanks from getting stuck.
  • Safe Haven: Adjusted bot navigation to prevent bots from getting stuck on the slope at G7/G8.
  • Dezful: Brightness of the world remains unaffected when moving the tank in sniper cam around F6/G6.
