This year, on June 6th, the world will commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. This day marks the beginning of the Battle of Normandy, known at the time by the codename Operation: Overlord, an immense campaign that saw Allied forces invade the beaches of northern France in a key moment of World War II.
