Switzerland is rolling into World of Tanks Modern Armor, Commander.

Before the nation’s new medium tank Tech Tree line arrives on August 25, the Panzer 57/60 leads the advance as the first Swiss vehicle in the game.

This Tier IX Premium medium combines a proven British foundation with Swiss engineering. Its accurate 105 mm gun, excellent standard penetration, flexible gun depression, and strong mobility make it a versatile support vehicle on almost any battlefield.

Produced by K+W Thun, the Panzer 57/60 was a Swiss upgrade of the Centurion Mk VII. Switzerland procured the original vehicles under its 1956–1957 program, and the basic Panzer 57 entered service in 1960 and remained in use until 1991. The 57/60 variant rearmed the tank with a 10.5 cm Panzerkanone.

The Panzer 57 also improved on the earlier Panzer 55 with a 1,100-liter fuel tank and a combat-compartment floor that rotated with the turret. These changes increased crew comfort and made the vehicle better suited for prolonged service. In total, Switzerland operated 312 Centurions of various types.

Gameplay Tips

The Panzer 57/60 is a flexible fire-support medium built to exploit terrain. Its 105 mm gun delivers 390 damage per shot, with 268 mm of penetration on its standard APCR ammunition. A 2.3-second aim time, 0.36 accuracy, and fast shell velocity help you place reliable shots at medium to long range.

Use its 10 degrees of gun depression to work ridgelines and limit your exposure. With a top speed of 50 km/h, a power-to-weight ratio of 18.34 hp/t, and a reverse speed of 20 km/h, the Panzer 57/60 can claim early positions, respond to shifting flanks, and retreat after firing.
