Last June, we shared our second Roadmap 2025 update with you, giving you a preview of features, events, and other developments that we’d been working on and were looking forward to bringing into the game starting this year.
Here we are at the beginning of a new year, so what better time for another roadmap update!
Remember, Commander: All features described are works in progress and subject to change. Images depict works in progress or concepts and are subject to change.
Let’s get into it!
COMING SOON
The following items are in their final phase of development, and these features are almost ready to release. Look for them in February and March!
12th Anniversary and Lunar New Year
Our next two in-game celebrations are the 12th anniversary of the game's launch and Lunar New Year. Join us for all the celebrations this February.
Regiments
We’ve continued to appreciate the enthusiasm and feedback you’ve shared about Regiments. We hope you've enjoyed the recent customization features for both your Regimental Banner and Regimental Flag for tanks.
Our next Regiments feature is: Recruiting! Soon you'll be able to see a list of potential new Regiment members under the "Manage" tab. From there, you can view a player's details and send that person an invite. It's that easy!
IN DEVELOPMENT
These are features that are being created, iterated, and improved. Our development team has dedicated resources to bringing this content into the game, but timelines and specifics are still subject to change.
Tech Trees
Look forward to several new Tech Tree lines this year. One that we're excited to reveal is Poland's new World War II Tank Destroyers! These tanks also include the Deep Rifling Mechanic, which allows for devastation up close and skilled shooting from afar!
(We can't reveal our other new Tech Tree line yet, but this one is special, and we're sure you won't be expecting it!)
Deep Rifling Mechanic
Let’s talk a little more about those Polish Tank Destroyers and the mechanic they’ll introduce.
This Tech Tree branch comprises six researchable vehicles spanning Tier V to Tier X. Tiers V–VII will feature classic turretless TDs with traditional gameplay. However, Tiers VIII–X introduce innovative shell mechanics, enabling vehicles to deal maximum damage in close combat.
Maximize Damage With Star Tray Shells
The Polish Tier VIII–X TDs come armed with unusual deep-rifled guns. These guns enable them to fire star tray shells at incredible velocities. The Tier IX-X vehicles' standard shell travels at 1,700 m/s, while the special one flies at 2,000 m/s. These shells are most effective within 50 meters, where they deliver maximum damage. However, their damage gradually decreases with distance, encouraging you to engage in close combat.
Commander Skills
Work continues to our updates to the Commander Skills system. Most notably, we are continuing work on adding some new Skills. Look forward to seeing those this year!
UNDER EXPLORATION
Under Exploration refers to new ideas and goals we are discussing among the development team. These ideas are being considered, but we haven’t completed any final designs or scheduled specific tasks related to them.
We’re investigating adding an additional feature of a delay to Base Capture. Essentially, the current idea is that in modes which have a capturable base, the base would not be available to capture for a period of time (e.g. two minutes) at the very beginning of the match. Whether this is its own mode or something we include in Capture the Flag is still being tested and thought about. Let us know your thoughts in the Discord!
We're also looking at simplifying the multiple reticles and information in the HUD. Lots of vehicles have a special reticle, each one communicating similar information but a little differently. We are hoping to unify these and provide something cleaner and more direct.
We welcome your feedback on these conversations and hope you’ll join us on Discord and our other social media pages to share your thoughts.
We’re looking forward to an exciting few months ahead! 🎉
