Recently our team became aware that players in certain regions have been encountering login issues and connection errors while playing or attempting to play World of Tanks Modern Armor.

The good news is that the team has identified a solution that might help resolve the problem if you run into these issues. It involves changing the DNS settings on your router.

• What is DNS? DNS (Domain Name System) translates website and game server addresses into IP addresses your network can understand. If your internet service provider (ISP)’s DNS is having problems, switching to a public DNS provider can restore your connection.

Important:

DNS changes must be made at the router level, not on your console or PC. Changing the DNS settings directly on your console will not resolve this specific issue.

Before You Begin:

• You’ll need access to your home router settings.
• You may need your router’s admin username and password.
• After making changes, you’ll need to restart your router.

Ready? Here’s how you change your router’s DNS settings.

Step 1: Access Your Router Settings

1. Open a web browser on a device connected to your home network.
   
2. In the address bar, enter your router’s IP address.
   You can usually find your router’s IP address using Network Settings on Mac/iOS/Android devices. For Windows devices, you can try opening Command Prompt, typing “ipconfig” (without quotation marks), and looking for the address labeled Default Gateway.
   
3. Log in using your router’s admin credentials. This will take you to an interface where you can update your DNS settings.

If you’re unsure of your login details for your router, check the following sources:

• The sticker on your router
• Your ISP documentation
• Your ISP support website

Step 2: Locate DNS Settings

Every router interface is slightly different, but look for one of the following:

• Internet Settings
• WAN Settings
• Network Settings
• Advanced Settings
• DNS Settings

One of these tabs will be the place where you can change your settings. You may need to switch from “Automatic DNS” to “Manual DNS” on this tab if Automatic has been selected.

Step 3: Enter a Public DNS Provider

Below are six options for public DNS provider settings. Start with the first option in the list and try each option one at a time.

After saving your changes, restart your router and try logging into the game before moving on to the next option.
