You have questions, we have answers. Let’s dive deeper into some of the questions the community has asked about the Cold War economy changes coming on January 30th!
When we announced the changes we have planned for the Cold War economy, which are geared toward making your Tech Tree progression faster and ultimately more enjoyable, we asked you to share your thoughts and feedback. And we knew that this community would deliver!
Since our initial article detailing the changes coming to tank and module costs and XP requirements, as well as Silver earn rates, we’ve received some great questions. We want to take some time to address a few of them here.

Updated average net Silver earned per battle: 25,000 Silver |
When on the brink of unlocking a tank, what happens to the excess XP? Does it contribute to unlocking the next tank or become tank-specific XP?
If I currently have 100k XP toward the next tank and there are modules now priced lower than that amount, will they automatically be unlocked?
The stated reduction in Silver earnings is sometimes higher than the reductions in tank costs. Does this imply that progression will now take longer?
Please note: Module costs include all possible modules at that tier and show the maximum amount possible. Not every tank will have every module. Tank cost is based on purchasing one tank. Will there be any adjustments to the costs associated with ammo and resupply due to the reduction in Silver earnings?
Thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to discuss the coming changes – we appreciate your feedback! Please keep the questions coming. Join us on our social channel, especially Discord, where we have plenty of lively discussions going about this and other matters.
And remember: these changes to the Cold War economy will be going live with the update scheduled for Tuesday, January 30th. We look forward to seeing you conquer those Tech Trees more quickly than ever!
