The tanks have changed, but your grim mission remains: Earn points to claim a Monster Tank, get additional rewards, and unlock Monsters Unleashed!

Abraham Van Helsing isn’t the only skilled fighter who’s taking down monsters this year. Pursue a beast of your own—claim a Monster Tank with the Monster Hunter Challenge!

Monster Tanks don’t just look fearsome. Every year, come October, each one awakens for Monster Mash mode, a special game mode in which the Monster Tanks battle with incredible supernatural powers.

Monster Hunter gives you the chance to earn a Monster Tank before Monster Mash begins and also enjoy some special seasonal bonuses. But be warned, Commander: this is no easy quest. Learn all about it below…

Challenge: Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter is a chained Challenge that requires you to complete stages by earning points. This year, you have three ways to earn your points – two standard goals, and a third, bonus goal available to those who already own a Monster Tank:

On your way to your Monster Tank, you’ll also earn Emblems, Tank War Chests, Garage Gear, Silver, and Boosters. And because Monster Hunter is the Celebrations Monthly Challenge for October, you’ll earn an exclusive Emblem as well!

New this year: The menagerie of Monster Tanks has grown so large that, for the first time, some non-licensed Monster Tanks can’t be earned through Monster Hunter. The following tanks have been removed from the Challenge for 2024:

• Kaiju O-I
• Lycan T71
• Revenant Kraft’s Panther
• Gorynych KV-5
• The Creature
• Bog Horror
• Roswell XM66F
• Arachnid

But fear not! If you own any of these, you’ll still be able to play them in Monster Mash, and you can still get your Monster Tank x2 Commander XP bonus (see below). If you purchase one of these tanks from the Store this year, you’ll be eligible for Monster Drops (see our Monster Tank Sales article for more info).

And, most importantly, these tanks will return to Monster Hunter in the years to come.

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:

• You can claim only ONE Monster Tank through the Monster Hunter Challenge. Choose wisely!
• Once you claim a tank, you will NOT be able to progress through the challenge any further.
• Claiming a tank you already own will reward you with the tank’s value in Silver.
• You will receive your Celebrations Emblem once your claim your Monster Tank.
• Even though the "Restrictions" below state "Multiplayer or Co-Op Only," you will be able to complete the Monster Hunter: Standard Point Earn goals in Monster Mash.

After completing Monster Hunter (in its entirety or after claiming your Monster Tank), you’ll unlock the Monsters Unleashed Challenge for additional rewards. Details below!

Monster Tank x2 Commander XP Bonus

Even more treats await you: Battles in your Monster Tanks will earn twice the Commander XP from October 15th through November 4th!

Whether you got your tank this year or any year before, via the Store or the Monster Hunter Challenge, the x2 Commander XP bonus is active on any Monster Tank in any Multiplayer, Co-Op, or Monster Mash battle as long as it’s Halloween on our battlefields. Activate a Commander XP Booster, and you’ll earn even more Commander XP!
